Garden Trends for 2009
May 28, 2009
While doing more research for the backyard components of the homeshow project we came across the following video by Landscape Ontario which takes a look at Garden Trends for 2009. Landscape Ontario looks like a great resource for planning your summer garden/patio/yard project and they can put you in touch with local members to really get your project going. We actually found our way to Landscape Ontario via the Hutten and Company Landscaping website after they dropped by today to look at the yard.
In addition to having some good garden tips/ideas we wanted to include the Landscape Ontario video as it is a good example of the sort of web video we intend to shoot and distribute to show of the talents and knowledge of home related businesses in the area. Not a home related business..not to worry, we have a variety of video marketing solutions for you as well outside of the HomeShow. Drop us a line 519 371 7611 and we can fill you in on more details or answer any questions you may have.

Long Weekend Clean Up
May 19, 2009
Over the weekend we had an opportunity to tackle a little more of the cleanup in the backyard. This included a couple of trips to the City Compost Yard to offload some leaves, yard bits and tree limbs.
After the weekend the yard stands cleared and ready to go for the next stage in development. Not only did we clean up all the random piles of leaves and litter but we cleared and wood chipped the area behind the garage which is now going to be storage for all the garden supplies (soil, mulch etc) as well as eventually the new home of the composter.
Solution for a structurally sound front step
May 19, 2009
The Project - Provide a cost effective and attractive solution for a crumbling front step.
The Details - The steps are structurally sound with some spalling, flaking of the top layer of clay/ceramic tiles. Has been covered with a mat for some time. Either new tile or some form of covering treatment (concrete? …we are obviously looking for suggestions here….). If you have a product/service to tackle this project get in touch.

For more details or to take on this project, please contact Ryan, 519 371 7611 or use the contact form.
26 feet of eavestrough connected to rain barrel
May 19, 2009
The Project - Install 26 feet of Eavestrough and connect this to a rain barrel.
The Details - We would like to harness rainwater from the room of the garage to feed our new raised bed gardens. The eaves will aslo serve to protect the garden that edges the garage. Colour – white…but we are open to suggestions.

For more details or to take on this project, please contact Ryan, 519 371 7611 or use the contact form.
Replace an oddball window with one that hinges
May 19, 2009
The Project – Replace a window
The Details – the replacement does not necessarily be a see through window but it does need to hinge/open to allow us to move two large carpet rolls in an out occasion. Window should lock sufficiently form the inside and it would be great if it was better insulated than the current set-up.

For more details or to take on this project, please contact Ryan, 519 371 7611 or use the contact form.
The Garden
May 13, 2009
If you haven’t yet checked out the Home Show promo video you should… set in the garden it provides some background on our goals for our yard/garden (yarden?). We managed to produce a good amount of food last year but otherwise the yard was a disaster and not really a space to enjoy.
The gallery below will serve as an introduction to the space. The biggest considerations we have right now… as much food as possible from the space, room for the kids/dog to run around, and a groundcover/surface that can handle large crowds of people.
Outdoors

We are currently focused on the garden and outdoor things… if you’re in outdoors-related business(landscaping, roofers, painters…) and would like to be a part of the FindItGreyBruce.com/homeshow, please contact us.
